Parents & Citizens
The John Tonkin College P & C Association has many functions:
- Encourage parents to participate in their child’s education
- Develops parent participation in the development of their child’s school
- A forum for parents to discuss issues pertaining to the school and its community.
- Guest speakers are invited to each meeting to give talks on matters associated with their child’s education
The P & C is funded by the school cafeteria and does not require any fundraising or volunteering. We meet twice a term, and meetings are kept to a maximum of 1 hour. It is a relaxed environment where anyone over the age of 18 can become a member, parents, grandparents, neighbours, guardians.
We are always looking for new members to join our team.
‘I’m here for the students. They are amazing and they have often overcome a lot of challenges to be here. A lot of them come to school with a lot of positive energy.’
