At JTC, we know that when students feel confident, connected and supported in how they think, they are better equipped to navigate challenges and thrive.
💬 Take a look, share with your family, and join us in building a strong, positive mindset across our community.
Today we recognise the importance of protecting our oceans and waterways, and the role we all play in caring for our environment. This year’s theme, Strong Marine Protected Areas for Our Blue Planet, highlights the need to safeguard marine ecosystems for future generations.
At JTC, this commitment is embedded in everyday learning, with students engaging in meaningful, real-world experiences.
Last week, our Tindale Campus celebrated with a World Oceans Day Festival, bringing together students, staff and local organisations for a range of interactive activities. Students explored the impacts of pollution, sustainability and human activity on marine ecosystems.
A highlight was the hands-on investigation led by DBCA’s Dr Peter Novak and Natalie Wolfe, where students examined plastics collected from local estuarine environments—highlighting the scale of pollution and encouraging practical solutions.
Students also connected with Fisheries WA, Tangaroa Blue and Coastal Waste Warriors, learning about sustainable fishing, marine debris and community action. Year 7 students further explored water sustainability through the Water Corporation’s Waterwise Experience.
These opportunities reflect JTC’s strong focus on environmental education, particularly through our Surf Science program, where students actively contribute to protecting and restoring our local marine environments.
What a full and fast-paced term it’s been. From hands-on learning and excursions to camps, assessments and big moments across the college, our students and staff have certainly made the most of every opportunity.
Now it’s time to pause, reset and enjoy a well-earned break.
Students return for Term 3 on Tuesday 21 July 2026 — we look forward to welcoming everyone back refreshed and ready for another exciting term ahead.
A special mention to our Year 12 students as they head into their final stretch — we’re right behind you.
As we head into the final day of Country Week, we couldn’t be prouder of our Senior students and the way they’ve represented JTC — with effort, resilience and true team spirit.
Here’s where our teams stand heading into Friday:
⚽️ Boys Soccer will play off for 3rd place after a hard-fought 0–0 draw today, creating plenty of opportunities and looking persistent throughout.
🏉 Touch Rugby showed incredible grit in a tough match today. Despite a heartbreaking result due to an officiating error, the team lifted quickly — back on their feet, cheering loud and proud. They’ll play for 3rd/4th tomorrow.
🏀 Girls Basketball will also compete for 3rd place, backing up a win and a loss today with some of their strongest, high-pressure performances of the week — all with just one on the bench.
🏸 Badminton A Grade will play for 5th/6th, while B Grade will play for 3rd/4th. A solid week across the board with a 50% win ratio.
🏀 Boys Basketball finished the week in 5th place, narrowly missing out on a higher finish after ending equal on points.
One more day to go — let’s finish strong, JTC! ... See MoreSee Less
Bright and early this morning, 76 of our students hit the road, ready to represent JTC at the 2026 Country Week Carnival.
After weeks of training, teamwork and preparation alongside their coaches and support staff, our students are set to compete across Volleyball, Badminton, Basketball, Netball, Soccer and Touch Rugby.
This week is about more than just sport — it’s about pride, connection, and creating memories that will last long after the final whistle.
Good luck to all of our students — we’re behind you all the way. Go JTC 💙
